3D printers

Lately, the use of 3D printers has become much more widespread and the offer of printed products is constantly increasing.
These printers are now used not only for the production of prototypes but also for direct production.

3D printing guarantees excellent quality standards and, in some cases, even better than conventional manufacturing processes.
Industrial vacuum cleaners are the ideal tool to ensure constant cleaning and maintenance of the 3D printer, in order to guarantee the highest quality of the products.

Additive manufacturing may involve the use of various composites such as plastics, metals and ceramics.

Given the diversity of materials used in additive manufacturing, the choice of an appropriate industrial vacuum cleaner is essential.

Additive powders

The powder produced by this kind of process can be divided into 3 main categories:

Non-combustible and non-conductive additive powders

For this category of materials, the dust doesn't represent any danger to the operator. Therefore its collection can be entrusted to an aspirator with filtering characteristics appropriate to the type and grain size of the dust.

Non-combustible and conductive additive powders

For this kind of powders it is necessary to use an ATEX category 3D certified vacuum cleaner. Fevi manufactures ATEX industrial vacuum cleaners with antistatic or conductive filters, with collection drum and filter chamber made in Aisi 304 stainless steel as standard. This guarantees absolute safety in the grounding of any electrostatic currents.
All Fevi ATEX vacuums are complete with Aisi 304 stainless steel filter chamber and can therefore be designated as internal Zone 20.

Combustible and conductive additive powders

Fevi's offer for vacuuming this category of materials, some of which are listed in the table, includes ATEX certified vacuum cleaners and a specific collection system that operates immersing the powders in an inerting liquid such as paraffin oil.
In this way the aspirated powders are immediately neutralized upon first contact with the liquid.
